From your first contact with our Patient Coordinators we will endeavour to attend to your needs promptly, efficiently and courteously. The majority of our dentists work to a template and generally your appointment will be scheduled accordingly. This ensures appropriate equipment; staff and time are available when required. To facilitate scheduling of your appointment, the Patient Coordinator may ask you to briefly describe the reason for your visit, including how long you have had the problem and if you are in pain.
At Sailors Bay, we not only provide the best of up to day care and practice, we aim to provide the best in personal care as well. From your first contact, we will take the time to talk with you so you can make informed decisions about your own health and treatment options.
When making an appointment for the first time, we will ask you for your name, contact details, health fund (if any) and the nature of your problem. So we can say thank you, we also like to know how you heard about us, particularly if another patient or dentist has referred you.
Your first appointment as a new patient includes a Comprehensive Dental Assessment , is generally 40 minutes long and charged at a flat fee of $258. During this appointment, your dentist will review your medical and dental history, complete a comprehensive oral examination of your teeth and gums and take any necessary x-rays and scans. Our digital technology means you and your dentist can both see any x-rays or scans on a dedicated screen and with the use of an intraoral camera, you will be able to see exactly what your dentist is seeing. Once the examination has been completed, your dentist will discuss your oral health and provide you with any recommended treatment options to consider.
At Sailors Bay, most of our patients see our hygienists for their preventative care. This will be explained to you at the time of your visit and where necessary, an appointment with our hygiene department can be scheduled.
All new patients are required to complete a new patient form. You can access this form by clicking on the link New Patient Form. Please bring the completed form with you on the day. If you are unable to access or complete this form before your first visit, please arrive 5-10 minutes early.
We keep a certain number of appointments available each day for patients who are in pain or have an urgent dental matter. Please advise your Patient Coordinator at the time of booking if you are in pain or experiencing any discomfort.
A dentist from the Practice is on call 24/7 to manage any emergencies. Contact with the on call dentist can be made by calling the Practice number and following the prompts.
Sailors Bay Dentistry has a Cancellation Charter. If you are unable to make a scheduled appointment, we ask our patients to provide us with a minimum of 48 hours notice. We regret, that if an appointment is missed or cancelled within 24 hours (other than in extenuating circumstances), a $100 fee may apply.
